It is your responsibility to confirm your travel insurance. Your insurance is not covered by the travel agency or the shop where you rented the bike. Additionally, you must verify the travel agency based on reviews, its status, and the motorcycle’s condition.

Major tour operators include simple maintenance such as engine oil, spark plug, clutch plate, tubes, and cable replacement (for the first set only) in the price. They also offer a single private backup van or truck for your riding journey in a Mustang to transport all of your luggage and motorcycle spare parts, but the clients will be liable for paying for any additional breakage caused by overuse, accidents, theft, etc

Fee & Permits for the Mustang motorbike Tour

Up to its reopening in 1992, Upper Mustang remained closed to visitors. Its environment has been unspoiled and protected as a result. Nonetheless, tourism in this area is rapidly booming, with an increasing number of trekkers and vacationers visiting this unique site by vehicle. Permits and fees needed for this tour:-

1. Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): Payable from Kathmandu or Pokhara, it costs about USD 30 per person.

2. The Upper Mustang Restricted Area Permit (RAP) costs $500 for the first ten days per person. After that, each additional day of stay will cost an additional $50 per person. The RAP is usually included in your vacation package, but you have to book it through a certified trekking company in Kathmandu or Pokhara. This Restricted Area Permit Fee is not charged if you are only visiting the lower mustang region up to the Kagbeni and Muktinath.

3. Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Entry Fee: It costs approximately USD 25 which you should pay when entering the Annapurna Conservation Area, which you pass through during the journey. 

In addition to the permits, there might be surcharges imposed by the local government or authorities. Especially if you’re travelling during festivals or special events.

Skill Level

Nepal’s roads can be challenging, particularly in the far north. Road construction, wet mud, gravel, sand, silt, steep gravel inclines and drops, river crossing and tight mountain passes could all be encountered. A great deal of ease would come from having off-road expertise and experience in such situations.

Best Time for Mustang tour

March through May, September, and November are the ideal months to visit the Mustang and Lo Manthang area. Just as there would be unobstructed sky that allowed you to see mountains. Visiting mustang in may could add some extra flavour to your exploration because it’s a time of great festival Tiji. Travelling to this area during the hard and extremely cold winter months of December through March is not recommended. The majority of the locals relocate to Pokhara or Kathmandu for the winter.
